What do you know about our DTS?

Dear friends, I hope you have heard that Beth and I will be leading a Bible school in April! What we call DTS (Discipleship Training School). Let me tell you a little bit about what it's all about.

Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups and denominations who want to serve Jesus throughout the world.

DTS is a school focused on knowing God and making Him known, equipping people to live a life of mission wherever they are, whether on the frontier mission field, in the church or in the workplace.

Our desire is for people to grow in their relationship with God, be taught, learn to serve and grow in character. To be challenged to live a more Jesus-centred life where God is Lord. We long to see people who are both equipped and passionate to walk in the Great Commission, to make disciples of all nations.

So what do you do?

Good question...

The DTS starts with a 12-week lecture program followed by a mission trip that is between 8 and 12 weeks long.

During the lecture phase you will go deeper in your relationship with God, explore your calling and be trained by leaders and speakers who have many years of experience in mission work. We have topics like "The Character of God", "Sin and the Cross", " Relationships" , "Identity" and " Bible world view", each week we tackle a new topic. In addition, we have one-on-one discipleship and serving through practical work at the base. Living together with people of different ages and cultures is not always easy and creates tensions... Or should we call them opportunities to learn discipleship.

The DTS has an overall picture that is not only about gaining knowledge, but growing as an an individual in your walk with God. All this and more while being surrounded by teachers and other students who have the same goal, to know Jesus and make Him known.

The other half of the School is focused on Mission, we go to one or more nations around the world, where we get to serve, and share the Good News of Jesus with the people there. Last year we went to the Middle East in 2 different teams. It's a time to put words into action while continuing to grow personally, whilst hopefully growing a desire to see people's lives transformed.
